In many business adventures you will see changes that need to take place as that business grows. Monkey Business has been steadily growing in consignors and item count. This is wonderful, but with the steadily decrease in volunteers it is almost too much for only a few people to handle. I am referring to the sorting of the unsold items after the sale has ended. We usually have about 6 hours to sort unsold items out after the sale closes to the public. Some would think, “That is plenty of time, ” but when you have at least 6 or more volunteers that you are relying on not show for various reasons that leaves the rest of the hardworking volunteers struggling to get items sorted. After researching options and consulting with various larger sales in Oklahoma and Arkansas, we found that they DO NOT SORT. Each consignor is responsible for finding their own items. That brings us to the NEW system. The NEW pickup system was implemented in Shawnee this past Spring 2018 sale. It worked GREAT!!!
With that being said, we will NO LONGER sort. From now on, each consignor will need to come at the designated times that they sign up for, locate, and gather their items. After items are gathered, you will then go to a checkout station where a volunteer will make sure that the items you have gathered are indeed all yours. Consignors will then sign a paper saying that they did pick up their items.
*I will have sales uploaded by 3pm on Saturday so you can see what has sold.
*Items not picked up will be donated at 2pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
